Coaches Comments
There comes a time every year, in the preseason, when the team is not going to improve any more just practicing. When that time comes you need to get out and play show and tell against another team. I believe we reached that point sometime in the early part of December. In our intrasquads we were really doing quite well, but we needed to get in a real meet. The Kentucky meet was a real eye opener. The meet was called "excite" night. This is a great meet with lots of distractions, somewhat like Nationals. As a team we did not respond as well as we could have. We had far to many falls, (12) to be exact. The bright side of the meet however was the attitude of the team. They never gave up and the individuals that hit their routines scored very well. Bars and Beam were our downfall. Floor and Vault were steady. Super senior Trisha Ashton preformed well on the beam and vault. Freshman Genevieve Claveau competing in her first meet since she tore her ACL had a team high score on bars of 9.85. Sophomore Lisa Willis lead off on bars and floor with solid routines.

I told the team we have along way to go if we expect to be around at the end of the season. They agreed and committed to bring up our intensity in workout. We look forward to our meet next week in Idaho with Boise State.
