Coaches Comments
This was the final regular season meet for the Cougars, and it was a re-match with their rivals the University of Utah Utes. Performing for the last time (in the regular season) were seniors Trisha Ashton, Brogan Jacobsen, Kari Lords, and Megan Pessoa. These four Cougars had been a source of strength for the rest of the team, and brought lots of energy along with the other 14 girls. Brogan Jacobsen started things off right with a 9.975 on the uneven bars- this was the team high score, and tied the high score of the night with Utah's Annabeth Eberle.

The vault came next with Juniors Kirsten Pauga and Jaime Mabray earning the team high 9.925 for the Cougars, but that had followed two perfect 10s by the Utes, so it was a tight race!

The girls had strong performances on the floor. This time it was Jaime Mabray again, and sophomore Lisa Willis who scored the team high 9.950, making the final rotation a real nail biter!

When beam started it was very close! It looked like the Cougars might be able to claim a victory on the Utes, and on the road no less! It was Jaime Mabray again, and this time senior Trisha Ashton who got the high 9.95- this was the best rotation of the night!

It was close- very close! But when the final scores were tallied up it was the Utes by a mere 8 tenths of a point! The Cougars put on an excellent performance though, and scored 197.800 for the night! One of the most exciting meets of the season.

This final regular season performance would earn BYU a #6 in the National rankings! One of the best seasons for BYU ever.

Next up: Regionals in Louisiana, where the Cougars are #1 in the Central Region!
