Boise State came to town and we switched venues from the Marriott Center to the field house because of other committments in the Marriott Center. We enjoy being in the SFH (fieldhouse) because of the more personal surroundings (its smaller) and the feeling of connection to the fans.

I believe this is the first team we have ever had that didn't struggle with the warmup their first time in the SFH. I was thrilled. We started on the vault with a question. We weren't sure if we should use Kirsten Pauga because she had a strained hamstring, but after a decent warmup we decided to go ahead and compete her. We had wondered about pulling her from this meet. Kari Lords and Megan Pessoa stared us off well with a 9.75 and 9.825 respectively. Kirsten had waited about 25 minutes for her turn and by the time it came she was a bit cold and ended us sitting down her vault. Next Marie-Helene Claveau competed and got her rater costumary 9.925 with a very nice vault. Jaime Mabray and Trisha Ashton followed with nice vaults garnering scores of 9.9 and 9.875.

Bars was next and after a wonderful warmup I thought we were ready for a great show. Our first 5 athletes hit there sets meaning we wouldn't be counting a fall on bars. Lisa Willis started off with a 9.75, Jaime Mabray 9.85, Genevieve Claveau 9.825. Kasie Capra did a nice set for a 9.825 and Kari Lords scored big with a 9.925. Usually strong Brogan Jacobsen missed her mount and then repeated the routine with probably her strongest bar set of the season, I think she was mad about missing the one that counted. However we did not have to count a fall and that is always a good thing.

We started strong with lisa on beam scoring a 9.825. Stuck routines from Jaime(9.825), Trisha(9.85) and Kari(9.975) one judge gave her a 10.0 and the other one should have. Unfortunately we had to count a fall but scored a respectable 48.8 on beam anyway.

As usual Dawn's floor monsters nailed their sets and we had a team score of 49.5 (9.9 average) for the evening. Lisa(9.875), Kacie(9.825), Trisha(9.9), Marie-Helene(9.9), Jaime(9.925), and Kari(9.9). Brogan Jacobsen has been out of the lineup the last few meets with a strained calf. We hope to have her back soon.

We finished the evening beating BSU 196.725 to 194.175 feeling pretty good about everything but having to count a fall.

Next meet is Monday the 23rd of February against Mizzou. They are very strong this year and we will have our hands full. Hopefully this will be the meet that we start not counting falls.
